Note: this retreat will be lead by Judy Walsh-Mellett, an experienced retreat leader who has been a part of the Dayspring retreat community for over 30 years.
Reviving the ancient Christian tradition of quarterly Ember Days, these one-day retreats offer time, silence, beauty and Sabbath rest at the hinges of the year. Each Ember Day will center around a theme suggested by the Earth's season and the season of the church year—Advent, Lent, Pentecost and Ordinary Time. Through reflections on our theme, as well as time for walking, journaling and prayer, a spaciousness of heart can begin to heal the hurried character of our days.
Leaders: Merrill Ware Carrington and Carol Martin (alternating). Carol, recently retired from work with children at Jubilee Youth Services, was for many years the director of Dayspring Retreat Center. Merrill is a spiritual director. Both are longtime retreat leaders.
10-4 at the Lodge, reservations not necessary. We recommend that you arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 to allow time to walk from the parking area to the Lodge and to settle in by 10. There is no cost; donations are welcome. Please bring a bag lunch.
