“Wisdom calls aloud in the streets.
She raises her voice in the public squares:
She calls out at the street corners.
She delivers her message at the city gates.”
Proverbs tells us that Wisdom is calling aloud in the streets. She is raising her voice and, almost desperately it seems, trying to get our attention on the street corners and at the gates of our broken cities.
The past 14 months have included some of the most difficult times of our lives, even while peppered with moments of solitude, slowing, and a renewed appreciation for creation. As the world begins to reopen, and expectations and obligations increase, we wonder, perhaps worry, if it will be possible to hold onto these gifts in this new age of virtual being?
On this retreat, we will open the gates of our hearts and invite Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom) to draw near and reveal herself to us. Through silence, contemplation, reflection, and sharing, we will encounter Sophia and listen attentively to her messages of love and hope that pervade all things as she moves in and among us.
“The quiet spaces in my life are necessary
if there is to be a movement from the head to the heart,
for it is in the heart that wisdoms are born.”

Zoom retreats are online silent retreats. They usually consist of an opening session with a reflection by the leader, an optional midday session, and a closing session which includes a time for small group sharing. A Zoom link will be sent to you when you register for the retreat.
