Seeding Hope in Transition: A Weekend Retreat back

October 1 - October 3, 2021

This retreat is full. Please let us know if you would like to be on the waiting list.
The present is difficult and mysterious, sometimes overwhelming.  So much is confusing and unknown.  Yet there is an essential dynamic Love at the heart of all things that is creating new life and strength for the journey: comforting Love and guiding Wisdom.   On retreat, discernment and courage emerge from deepening our awareness of this living Presence.
Dayspring is unusually beautiful and alluring in October.  Earth’s own autumnal rhythms of change -- letting go, seeding, and resting -- can help us open more fully to embrace our struggles as well as the hopes of divine possibilities.  Our deepest call is to be still and open to the gracious One, trusting Love in all the vicissitudes of life.
Let us come together in silence to be still and attentive at this threshold time in our world. Embraced by Love and the gift of authentic spiritual community, we can find new hope and healing strength for new pathways.
Leader:  Ann Dean, longtime minister in the ecumenical Church of the Saviour, member of Dayspring’s Retreat Mission Group, spiritual director and retreat leader, Program Director at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation.

You must be fully vaccinated in order to attend a weekend retreat.  The policy on wearing a mask indoors will be dictated by Montgomery County guidelines.

Weekend retreats run Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. The silence begins Friday night after dinner when the leader opens the retreat and introduces the theme. The leader usually offers brief meditations with morning and evening prayers on Saturday. The silence ends late-morning Sunday with a time of sharing and worship, followed by lunch and departure.

The cost for weekend retreats is $250.  A $100 deposit is required to register.  (Let us know if you need financial assistance.)  To reserve a space email Nat Reid at, or send a check with a note indicating which retreat you wish to register for.

Dinner on Friday at 7 pm is the first official gathering. You are welcome to arrive and settle in between 3:30 and 6:30 pm on Friday. The retreat will end by 2 pm on Sunday.  Please plan to stay for the entire retreat.
