A Lenten Retreat: Christ in You, the Hope of Glory
March 24 - March 26
Theme: A Lenten Retreat: Christ in You, the Hope of Glory
From Genesis to Revelation, the cosmic Christ reveals the eternal hope of wholeness. From the birth of Jesus to his resurrection, he demonstrates the divine way of being human. He shows an alternative way of living, flowing from a deep intimacy with the heart of the Holy One. That deep intimacy empowers us to boldly join God’s dream for justice and compassion in our broken world.
Our intent is to open the eyes of our hearts to the Hope of Glory in one another and in all creation. Invigorated by the dynamism of eternal Love we can fulfill Jesus’ own prayer before his death that we may all be One. In this time of Lenten longing, of surrender and forgiveness, we will come together in the sanctuary of spiritual community in silence and reflection. Colossians 1 will ground our meditations.
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible. All things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him. God has chosen to make known to you the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (From Colossians 1)
