Embracing Uncertainty – A Weekend Retreat

September 13 - September 15

Theme: Embracing Uncertainty

This retreat will offer time to explore the fear of the unknown and to reawaken our sense of wonder as co-creators in the world.  Encouraged by writings from the Church of the Saviour, wisdom traditions and nature, we are invited to see how the world can open up in new and unforeseen ways when we embrace our fears in faith and confidence that “All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.” (Julian of Norwich)

Leader: Theodore Smith is a member of Festival Church and silent retreat veteran. His playful and creative spirit inspires his approach to contemplation and wisdom in guiding others.

Weekend retreats run Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. The silence begins Friday night after dinner when the leader opens the retreat and introduces the theme. The leader usually offers brief reflections with morning and evening prayers on Saturday. The silence ends after breakfast Sunday morning with a time of sharing and worship, followed by lunch and departure.

The cost for weekend retreats is $275.  A $125 deposit is required to register.

We serve family-style, homemade vegetarian food which includes eggs and dairy. If you have any allergies or medically advised dietary restrictions, please let us know, and we will accommodate your needs if we can.

Please complete this registration form.
Then use the Contact Page form to request assistance.

Dinner on Friday at 7 pm is the first official gathering. You are welcome to arrive and settle in between 3:30 and 6:30 pm on Friday. The retreat will end by 2 pm on Sunday.  Please plan to stay for the entire retreat.
