Finding Peace and Tranquility through Restorative Silence – A Weekend Retreat

March 6 - March 8
sunrise

Theme: Finding Peace and Tranquility through Restorative Silence.  This retreat will be an empathetic soul intervention, creating time and space to detox from the noise and chaos that competes for our attention.  In the silence we will step away from the loud demands for our attention, our social anxieties and the search for relevance, and we will open to the restoration of self-actualized peace that leads to joy.

Leader: Pastor Joseph P. Deck, III is the proud servant leader of Wayman AME Church, AKA “The Wayman Nation,” located in Frederick, Md.  He is an experienced silent and spoken retreat leader, the former Director of the Festival Center, and currently sits on the Board of Recovery Cafe DC.

Weekend retreats run Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. The silence begins Friday night after dinner when the leader opens the retreat and introduces the theme. The group will gather for brief morning and evening reflections by the leader on Saturday. The silence ends after breakfast Sunday morning with a time of sharing and worship, followed by lunch and departure.

The cost for weekend retreats is $325.  A $150 deposit is required to register.

We serve family-style, homemade vegetarian food which includes eggs and dairy. If you have any allergies or medically advised dietary restrictions, please let us know, and we will accommodate your needs if we can.
