Focusing on What Matters – A Weekend Retreat

April 4 - April 6

Theme: Focusing on What Matters

As Christians we sometimes become overwhelmed with the transitions of life.  This can cause us to wander at times, lose hope and sometimes falter.  What should one do?  During this Lenten season, let us lay aside the typical disciplines and “arise (from spiritual depression to a new life), shine for your light has come, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you.”  (Isaiah 60:1, Amplified Bible)  With this illumination, we will focus on these things:  a time of realignment, a time of repentance and a time of reconciliation.

Leader: Amelia Harris is a long-time retreat leader and friend of the Church of the Saviour and Dayspring.  She is Co-Pastor emeritus of Newborn Community of Faith Church, Co-Founder of Intersection of Change in Baltimore, MD, and first Program Director of Martha’s Place, in partnership with Samaritan Inns, serving women overcoming addiction and homelessness.

Weekend retreats run Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. The silence begins Friday night after dinner when the leader opens the retreat and introduces the theme. The leader usually offers brief morning and evening reflections on Saturday. The silence ends after breakfast Sunday morning with a time of sharing and worship, followed by lunch and departure.

The cost for weekend retreats is $300.  A $150 deposit is required to register.

This retreat is now full.

If you'd like to join the waitlist, please go here.

Dinner on Friday at 7 pm is the first official gathering. You are welcome to arrive and settle in between 3:30 and 6:30 pm on Friday. The retreat will end by 2 pm on Sunday.  Please plan to stay for the entire retreat.
